Arthol Gibson aka DJ Ampero started his career in 2005 on Nassau, Bahama’s art circuit as the go-to disk jockey for special events and parties.
He became a staple on the local art scene and quickly progressed to become the preferred DJ for The Hub gallery, corporate and private events, and played a role crafting the vibes of the new era of open-mic poetry.
Ampero is known for breathing new life into his performances where he masters live mash-ups and remixes of popular and classic tracks of all genres. His mixtapes propelled him to a stationary position with a local fashion and photography magazine, Stylezine, where he produced Shore Music, their annual mixtape series. As Ampero continued to release mixtapes, he positioned himself as one of the key DJs involved in the House and EDM scene in the Bahamas and became the official DJ for FashArt, an annual competitive exhibition of Bahamian fashion and art.
Ampero is currently involved with the production team, The Slow Fives, and his next mission is to master music production. He continues to produce remixes for local talent and has assembled a production demo/EP.
Ampero has held residencies in venues including Bahama Joes, Da Balcony, and Volume Music Bar.
He has molded the DJ scene at bars and nightclubs, pleasing guests with fresh sounds and developed a following.
He has toured with local acts such the Illest Reggae Band, RAPP Quelle, and JudahThaLion and has been featured as the opening act. His career has awarded him as one of the only Redbull DJs in the Caribbean region.
Ampero continues to make many couples wedding day truly special by using his skills as a turntablist to deliver a truly unique and tailored event.
